Fawn Mckay
Fawn McKay was born 15 September 1915 in Ogden, Utah. Fawn McKay, raised in the Mormon Church's First Family, utilized her writing talent as well as expertise in research to write the fascinating psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 with the title:"No Man is a Master of My History, she used both. The title came from a funeral sermon delivered by the founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844. He shocked the congregation with his words"You don't even know me." I never told you about my heart. My story is not known to any one. It's impossible to tell. I wrote the 29-year-old Fawn at the time: Ever since that moment of candor at least three-score writers have taken up the gauntlet. These documents are not lacking however they contradict each with respect to each other. It is a difficult task to assemble these documents, separating first-hand accounts from third-hand copies and fitting Mormon narratives with non-Mormon ones to form a cohesive mosaic.
